My name is Crystal (White Shield) Little Eagle- Pi Kee Maah (or Sunshine/ Sun Ray Woman). I am an enrolled Southern Cheyenne & Arapaho Tribal Citizen, as well as Kiowa, originally from Apache Wye, OK. I reside in Billings, MT with my husband and children. I am a self-taught beadwork, sewing, and jewelry artist. I beaded my first fully beaded outfit stage 13, and bean sewing at 16. My motivation in my early years was to make my own outfits the way I wanted to make them, with my own designs. The cost of having other artists became too much for my mom, who was a single parent during my teenage years. I have mentors like Amy Bearskin, the late Lita Limpy-Waters, and her daughters Tracy & Tia Waters, for beadwork. For sewing, my mentors were Wanda Nelson, Antoinette Begay-Yazzie, Darlene Beetso, and many others who have shown me tips and tricks along the way. I’m very fortunate to have the kill and artist that I have today. It’s a God-given gift and I try to share it with those who are willing to learn. My art mostly stays within my family, but sometimes I’ll make it available for someone to purchase. A’HO! Thank you.
