I am a self taught beader, seamstress, and jewelry maker. I have been creating pieces for over 30 years. Most of my creations have been gifted to family and loved ones. It is only in the last few years that I have begun to sell my work. Beading, sewing and making regalia has been a passion of mine from the start. A lot of love and good thoughts go into all of my work. When I work on a custom order, I put a lot of good feelings into the piece, always smudge the supplies before I start and when the piece is completed.

It’s hard to define the type of artwork that I do, as there have been so many different projects; from ribbon skirts/shirts, jingle dresses, men’s traditional beadwork, full women’s traditional regalia, moccasins, shawls, and beaded shoes, hats, handbags, earrings, water bottles, and Christmas bulbs.

I love passing down my knowledge and am very proud when I see my children and grandchildren taking interest in learning to bead and use their creativity to make works of art, whether it’s jewelry or painting a canvas piece.

One of our business goals at 406 Native Roots is to be able to share knowledge from local artisans with anyone wishing to learn more about beading, sewing, quillwork, painting, pottery, and so much more. We hope to create a welcoming atmosphere where we can share stories, while creating beautiful pieces of art that reflect our feelings, emotions, hopes, and dreams.
